4. MIXED CONDITIONAL SENTENCE ( Câu điều kiện hỗn hợp)
If he had gone to bed early last night, he wouldn’t be late for school this morning.
 (Nếu như tối qua cậu ấy đi ngủ sớm, thì sáng nay cậu ấy đã không đi học muộn.)

B. Use: This type of mixed conditional refers to an unreal past condition and its probable result in the present.(Ta dùng câu điều kiện hỗn hợp để diễn tả giả thiết trái ngược với quá khứ, nhưng kết quả thì trái ngược với hiện tại.
=> Nghĩa là mệnh đề điều kiện là điều không có thật ở quá khứ, mệnh đề chính là điều không có thật ở hiện tại.)
A. Form (Công thức / Cấu trúc):
If clause main clause
If + S + had + P.P S + would/could(not) + V ( bare infinitive)
Note:
- “ UNLESS”: Trong mệnh đề điều kiện, ta có thể thay
liên từ “If….. not” bằng “ Unless” (nếu .....không, trừ khi).
“Unless” = “If not”
EX: If you don’t study hard, you’ll fail in the exam
---> Unless you study hard, you’ll fail in the exam
