I. Countable and uncountable nouns (danh từ đếm được và danh từ không đếm được)
Danh từ đếm được là những danh từ chỉ người hoặc vật mà chúng ta có thể đếm được
bằng số. Chúng có thể là số ít hoặc số nhiều: rock/ rocks; island/ islands; hat/ hats …
Chúng ta thường dùng Some, many, a few trước danh từ đếm được.
Ex: Some rocks: một vài hòn đá
many rocks: nhiều đá
a few rocks: một ít đá

Danh từ không đếm được là những danh từ chỉ vật mà chúng ta không thể đếm được bằng số. Chúng thường không có hình thức số nhiều: cream, chocolate, water, rice, …
Chung ta thường dùng: some, much, a little trước danh từ không đếm được.
Ex: some cream: một chút kem
much rice: nhiều gạo
a little water: một ít nước
