II. Grammar
1. To infinitive (To V):
to + infinitive
- T: What is he doing?
- S: He is swimming.
- T: What is he swimming for?
- S: He is swimming to be healthier.
Ex1 : The dentist can do a lot to improve our teeth.
Form: S + V ..+ to-infinitive
Meaning: để
Use: to express purpose (để chỉ mục đích)
What … for = Why?
Ex2: He listens to music to relax.
Example:
- What do you listen to classical music for? (feel relaxed)
- To feel relaxed, I listen to classical music. / I listen to
classical music to feel relaxed.
