III. PRONUNCIATION:
High tones: (Tông/ âm cao)
1- Chúng ta sử dụng tông cao cho những tính từ như: excellent (xuất sắc), gorgeous (rực rỡ), brilliant (rực rỡ),
superb (tuyệt vời), absolutely (chắc chắn), amazing (ngạc nhiên) để thể hiện cảm xúc mạnh mẽ.
- Nếu chúng ta sử dụng tính từ yếu như:
nice, quite pleasant, quite pretty… giọng của chúng ta thường cao.
Ex:
Lan: So, how was your trip?
Hoa: Excellent
2.- Khi chúng ta sử dụng: excellent (xuất sắc), gorgeous (rực rỡ), brilliant (rực rỡ), superb (tuyệt vời), absolutely (chắc chắn), amazing (ngạc nhiên)… với tông ngang, chúng có nghĩa ngược lại.
