Complex sentences
• A complex sentence consists of one independent clause and at
least one dependent clause.
They started eating as soon as their food arrived at the table.
• We use subordinating conjunctions (after, before, when, as
soon as, if, because, although, etc.) to connect the clauses in
a complex sentence.
We should take off our shoes when we enter someone's
house.
