MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL
The mid autumn festival or the full moon festival is considered as the one of the most important holiday in VN.
This traditional festival held on the 15th day of the 8 lunar month
When the moon is roundest and brightest moon in the year
The mid autumn festival is named tet trung thu in vietnamese
It’s also known as children’s festival because it revolves around children
Nowaday mid autumn festival is an occasion for family reunion.
On this special occation parent prepare many difirent foods such as: candies moon cake and fruits that are desinged with fun symbol for their children.
In Mid autumn festival to celebrarated everyone often hang red lanterns on the street and on their house to make the atmosphere more homey
In the full moon night children parade on the street, singing folk song, wearing mask and join a lantern parade. It is the most fantastic scene of the mid-autumn festival

CAKE
All across Vietnam families welcome mid autumn festival
by placing a five-fruit tray and cakes on our ancestral altar
We offer the food to our ancestors and worship, before feasting on mooncakes -- usually outside under the light of the moon
Vietnamese mooncakes are often in the shape of a circle or a square
They are very popular and are sold only during mid autumn festival season
Two types of moon cake
sticky rice moon cake
Baked moon cake
The ingredients of moon cake usually consist of jam,dried sausage, salt, sugar, water melon seed, lotus seed, cooking oil
Lion dancing
Lion dancing is an important activities of the Mid-autumn festival
Excitement peaks when drumbeats ring out from down the dark street. The smaller kids shrink back and the older ones run forward as a mythical lion bursts into their courtyard, its giant head and sinuous body borne by a team of acrobatic dancers.
With its gaping mouth and protruding eyes, the lion is both comical and fearful
The dancers lunge closer to the crowd, making the kids scream and laugh at their antics.
Under the light of the full moon, the lion’s red sequined body sparkles as it dances. For Vietnamese children, not much else beats this spectacular performance on the night of Trung Thu
