Active and Passive Sentences (Câu chủ động và câu bị động) . *Active sentences(Câu chủ động) : * + là câu trong đó chủ ngữ là người hay vật thực hiện hành động. * Ex : They clean this house everyday. *2. Pasive sentences(Câu bị động) : * +là câu trong đó chủ ngữ là người hay vật nhận hoặc chịu tác động của hành động. *Ex : This house is cleaned everyday.

*- Chú ý : * + Nếu chủ ngữ trong câu chủ động là tên riêng xác định thì ta sử dụng lại trong câu bị động làm tân ngữ theo sau giới từ “by”. * E.x: Mr Pike, Ms Mary,… *Ex : This car is repaired by Mr Pike * + Các chủ ngữ I, we ,you ,they ,she ,he ,it ,one ……, people ,someone, somebody ,..trong câu chủ động thường được lược bỏ,không dùng trong câu bị động. *Ex: She often borrows my bicycle. * My bicycle is often borrowed. * +Trạng từ (ngữ) chỉ thời gian thì đứng sau”by” * Ex : The report is typed by the student this morning *+Trạng từ (ngữ) chỉ địa điểm thì đứng trước”by” *Ex : He is found in the forest by the police

4. Modal verbs (MV) in Passive voice
*Modal Verbs ( can/ will/must/should… .) * can be used in either the present or past forms. Active: S + MV (not) + V + O * *Passive: S + MV (not) + Be + PP + by + O *Ex: We can't solve this problem. * This problem can't be solved. *
