Mai: What nice photos! Have you been to all these places?
Tom: Yes, I’ve been to most of them. This is Rio de Janeiro. It’s an exciting city, but sometimes it’s very hot.
Mai: Is the weather there hotter than in Sydney?
Tom: Oh yes! Sydney isn’t so hot. I’ve been to the beaches there many times with my family. They’re the cleanest and the most beautiful in the world!
Mai: Is this London? What bad weather!
Tom: Yes, we’ve been there twice.
Activity 1. Listen again to part of the conversation. Pay attention to the present perfect.

Form: (+) S + have/has + V-ed/P3.......
(-) S + have/has + not + V-ed/P3.......

No, S + haven’t/ hasn’t
Use: - We use the present perfect to describe our experiences
Ex: I have been to Sapa
- We often use “ever/ never” when we describe our experiences
Ever means `at any time’, is used in question/ the first experiences
Ex: Have you ever met a famous person ?
Never means the subject hasn`t had a certain experience before, never can be used in negative questions
Ex: Have you ever been abroad?
