B. SPEAKING
Look at the picture, ask and answer the questions below:
1. How many generations are there in the family?
2. Who do the old- aged parents live with?
- There are 2 ,3 or 4
- They live with their children and grand children
Talk about Vietnamese family
Task 1: Work in pairs, express your point of view to each other on the ideas in Task1 in your book, using the following expressions.
* If you want to express your agreement, you can use:

*If you want to express your disagreement, you can use:

P1: Do you agree that the old – aged parents should live with their children or grandchildren?
P2: I think the old – aged parents should live with their children or grandchildren. Because the young men can help the elder ones in the family
- Do you think , it’s a good idea when three or four generations live in a home?
-Do you believe that a happy marriage should be based on love?
-Do you believe that love is supposed to the follow marriage, not precede in in some Asian countries?
-Do you agree that in some countries, a man and a woman hold hands and kiss each other in public?
Some suggested questions
-I don’t agree that a happy marriage should be based on love. Because there are a lot of things to make it happy.
- It’s not true. Bcause nowadays, many Asians are as open-minded as Americans, so they can decide their own marriage.
- In my opinion it’s a good idea when three or four generations live in a home. Because they can help each other a lot.
- I think that in some Asian countries, a man and a womanmay hold hands and kiss each other in public. But it’s not very popular in Vietnam.

2. Task 2: Below are some typical features of American culture. Work in pairs, discuss and find out the corresponding features of Vietnamese culture.
- Two generations (parents and children) live in a home
- Old-aged parents live in nursing homes
- It is not polite to asks questions about age, marriage and income
- Americans can greet anyone in the family first.
- Three or four generations live under one roof
- Elders live with children and are taken care of by their sons
- Asking about age, marriage and income is acceptable.
- A Vietnamese greets the head of the family or the oldest person first, then the younger ones
