Câu hỏi đuôi gồm có hai phần:
Câu nói(statement)+phần đuôi(tag)?
Ex: You study here, don’t you?
(Bạn học ở đây, phải không?)

General rules (Qui tắc chung).
Câu nói và phần đuôi luôn luôn ở dạng hay nghĩa đối nhau.
Affirmative statement, negative tag?
Negative statement, affirmative tag?
Ghi nhớ: Khi câu nói có từ phủ định như: seldom, rarely, hardly, no, without, never, phần đuôi phải ở dạng xác định.

b. Verb of the tag.(động từ của phần đuôi)
Câu nói có trợ động từ: trợ động từ được lập lại ở phần đuôi.
EX: He can help us, can’t he?
Paul isn’t going to study English,
Câu nói không có trợ động từ:Dùng động từ DO/DOES ở phần đuôi.
Ex: His brother likes coffee, doesn’t he?
They didn’t repair the old bridge,
is he?
did they?

C. Subject of the tab.(chủ từ của phần đuôi): thường là đại từ nhân xưng.
Ex: - She will come tomorrow,
- Mary has been to Hue several times,

- Pupils are doing the test in the room,

won’t she?

2.Special cases:(trường hợp đặc biệt):
Phần đuôi của “ I am” là “ aren’t I”
Ex: I’m going to do it again, aren’t I?
Câu mệnh lệnh (Imperatives):
+ Có phần đuôi là “ WON’T YOU” để diễn tả “lời mời”.
Ex: Take your seat, won’t you?
Have a piece of cake, won’t you?

- Câu yêu cầu (requests): thường có phần đuôi là “will you”
Ex: Please keep silent, will you?
Please don’t make a noise, will you?
Phần đuôi của câu với “ LET’S + V….”: là “shall we?”
Ex: Let’s go swimming, shall we?

KEY: ? = LIKE ? = DON`T LIKE ( DISLIKE)
A: Tuan likes news, doesn`t he?

B: No, they don’t
Look at the pictures, ask and answer the questions
Eg: S1: You like watching TV, don’t you?
S2: Yes, I do/ No, I don’t
