HISTORY
The origin of the Lunar New Year is still a
matter of controversy.
Most information suggests that the Lunar
New Year originated in China and was
introduced to Vietnam during the 1000 years
of Northern domination. But according to the
story "Banh Chung, Banh Day", Vietnamese
people have celebrated Tet since the time of
the Hung Kings, that is, before 1000 years of
Northern domination.

-Vietnamese people have the custom to
wish New Year to relatives and friends
"on the first day of Father's Day, on the
second day of Mother's Day, and the
third day of Teacher's New Year". On this
occasion, people give each other best
wishes and do not forget to give red
packets.
- Going to the pagoda at the beginning
of the year is a spiritual beauty for
Vietnamese people. People and families
go to temples to worship Buddha and
their ancestors and pray for a new year
of good luck, fortune, and peace for the
whole family.

Chung cake is a traditional dish that has
existed since ancient times and is still
considered a symbol of Tet. The dish
symbolizes the harmony of heaven and
earth and is a long-standing cultural
feature of our nation. To cook delicious,
square cakes, you need a little experience
and skillful hands. The cake is made from
glutinous rice, green beans, and pork and
is cooked in a pot for a long time

Along with cake Chung, cake tet is an
important part of the traditional Tet holiday.
How to make cake tet is a bit more
complicated and also requires more
ingredients than cake Chung. Cake Tet
symbolizes prosperity from one life to
another.

Tet Holiday
Tet is an important holiday in Vietnam. The Tet season often lasts from
the beginning of January to the end of February. Tet's meaning is the
finish of the old year and a welcome for a new year. Tet Holiday is
one of the occasions for Vietnamese families to reunite. The branch
of the Dao flower or the Kumquat tree can not be absent, adding a
new feeling to the building. On the Tet holiday, people have lots of
traditional events. Young and old people take part in traditional
games such as tug of war, rice cooking, and watching lion dancing.
A lot of people visit their relatives to wish them a happy new year.
Adults usually give lucky money to children. People also go to
pagodas to pray for their families. Tet holiday will stay in the heart
of Vietnamese for generations.
