The worshipping Kitchen God is
a long-time tradition of

the Jade Emperor.

meaning the fish will turn into a dragon, cross the
martial arts gate, and become a dragon. means for the

Releasing carp is also a way to express the wish
for a new year with lots of hope, joy,
compassion, and peace in the new year.
• Not only they symbolize luck and prosperity, the three Gods also
help prevent evil spirits and keep everyone in the family safe.
Therefore, the ceremony of worshiping the Kitchen God is an
important form of expressing people's respect and gratitude to the
gods for their hardships throughout the year.
