The table describes the trend of literacy rates in Sunshine country from 1998 to 2007. As can be seen from the data in the table, the literacy rates in Sunshine country rose slightly from 1998 to 2002 in Lowlands. There was a dramatical rise in 2007, it reached to 90%. In Midlands, the rates increased gradually and the peak was 85% in 2007. In contrast, there was a slight decrease in the rates of literacy in Highlands in the first four years from 1998 to 2002. In the last six years, the rates dropped sharply from 45% to 30%. In general, the literacy rates in Sunshine country had tendency to increase over 10 years.
