References
Quang Ninh is a large province located along the northeastern coast of Vietnam. Nearly 90% per cent of coal output in the country is extracted in this province.
The sea and island zone of Quang Ninh has a unique terrain. There are more than 2,000 islands, making up two thirds of Vietnam’s islands.
Current situation
Quang Ninh is the province has abundant resources and has immense potential to develop the economy in every sector. Industrial development is taking place at a rapid pace. Mineral extraction industries are being developed. and this is coal mining.
Current situation
Mining techniques can be divided into two common excavation types: surface mining and sub-surface (underground) mining.
Surface mining
Today, surface mining is much more common. Surface mining is done by removing (stripping) surface vegetation, dirt, and if necessary, layers of bedrock in order to reach buried ore deposits.

Sub-surface mining consists of digging tunnels or shafts into the earth to reach buried ore deposits.
Subsurface mining

Affect the environment
- Coal mining, particularly surface mining, requires large areas of land to be temporarily disturbed.
And the impact of coal mining is very large creatures such as loss of biodiversity, loss of species of plants and animals.
Affect the environment
-This raises a number of environmental challenges, including soil erosion, dust, noise and water pollution, and impacts on local biodiversity.
Solution
- Steps are taken in modern mining operations to minimise impacts on all aspects of the environment.
- By carefully pre-planning projects.
- Implementing pollution control measures.
- Monitoring the effects of mining and rehabilitating mined areas.
- The coal industry minimises the impact of its activities on the neighbouring community.
Conclusion
-Coal plays an important role for industry. and coal is a resource for economic development. but we must also know how to exploit and use that fair. and not to influence the surrounding environment.
