1. Could/ be able to
Usages:
We use both “could” and “was/ were able to” to express one’s general ability in the past.
Ex:
When she was young she could/ were able to play the violin well.
Couldn’t = wasn’t, weren’t able to
Ex:
She was tired last night, so she couldn’t / wasn’t able to finish her homework.
We use “was, were able to” to express one’s ability gained by making effort.
Ex:
Although she was tired last night, she was able to finish her homework.

2. Imperatives ( câu mệnh lệnh)
- Won’t you được thêm vào cuối để diễn tả lời mời.
( Do) V + Objective/ Adv, won’t you?
Ex: (Do) take a seat, won’t you?
-“ Will (not) / Would (not) /Can (not) you ?” được thêm vào cuối để diễn tả yêu cầu lịch sự.
Ex: (Do) open the window, won’t you?

3. Request ( câu yêu cầu): “ Will you?” thường được thêm vào phần đuôi.
Please + ( don’t) V + Objective/ Adv, will you?
