Cách phát âm âm /ə/:
– Miệng mở tự nhiên không quá to, lưỡi thả lỏng tự nhiên.
– Âm được phát ra rất ngắn, gọn, dứt khoát, khi phát âm xong lưỡi vẫn giữ nguyên.
*Chính tả phổ biến:
- Khi từ bắt đầu với “a”
- Khi từ chứa “a” đứng trong các âm tiết có -acy, -and, -ant/-ance, – ard, -graphy, -ham, -land, -man.




- Khi từ chứa “e” đứng trong các âm tiết có -el,-ent, -ence, -er, -ment
*Âm /ə/ :
Âm /ɜ:/
– Miệng mở tự nhiên, lưỡi đặt tự nhiên, cao vừa phải, nhưng cao hơn khi phát âm /ə/.
– Âm phát ra dài hơn /ə/.
