The success of his flight attracted worldwide attention and made him a hero.

1. When did Gagarin first fly into space?
At 9.07 a.m Moscow time on 12th April, 1961.




2. What questions were raised before Gagarin’s space flight?
They were :

“How the body would react to the extreme changes in temperature?”
“How the mind would deal with the psychology tension?”.

4. Why couldn’t Gagarin make a new space flight?
Because he died in a plane crash on a routine training flight in March 1968.

Pham Tuan was born on February 14th , 1947 in Kien Xuong, Thai Binh.
He became a national hero in 1973.
He was the first Vietnamese and Asian human to fly into space in 1980 in Intercosmos of the Soviet Union.
His flight lasted 7 days, 20 hours, 42 minutes.
He was awarded the title “ Hero” 3 times.
( 2 times of Vietnam and one of the Soviet Union)
He retired in December 2007 with army rank: lieutenant-general ( trung tướng)
