Definition
The past simple tense is used to describe an action or event that started and ended in the past.

How to conjugate words and irregular verbs?
The past tense is formed verb
We add "-ed" after verbs that are not irregular verbs
Watch – watched / turn – turned/ want – wanted/ attach – attached/…
Verbs ending in "e" -> we just need to add "d"
Type – typed/ smile – smiled/ agree – agreed
Verbs with ONE syllable, ending in ONE consonant, before the consonant is ONE vowel -> we double the last consonant and add "-ed".
Stop – stopped/ shop – shopped/ tap – tapped/
If before "y" is a consonant (remaining), we change "y" to "i + ed".
Study – studied/ cry – cried
So, what about Irregular verbs??
Types of irregular verbs

Irregular verbs which have the same form at 3 columns.
Eg: cut-cut-cut
read – read –read
rid – rid - rid

Irregular verbs which have the same form at 2 columns.
Eg: beat – beat – beaten
buy – bought – bought
catch – caught - caught

Irregular verbs which the verbs in 3 columns are completely different.
Eg: do – did – done
go – went – gone
sing – sang - sung
Irregular verbs are the verbs that do not follow certain rules in English law and do not use the ending -ED after these verbs. And we have 360 irregular verbs.
