1. Quy tắc cơ bản của việc phát âm các từ tận cùng với “s”:
‘s’ được phát âm là /z/ khi theo sau các âm hữu thanh trừ 3 âm (z, ʒ, ʤ/)
‘s’ được phát âm là /s/ khi đi sau các âm vô thanh trừ 3 âm (s,∫,t∫)
‘s’ được phát âm là / iz/ khi đi sau các âm (z, ʒ, ʤ, s, ∫,t∫ )
2. Quy tắc cơ bản của việc phát âm các từ tận cùng với “ed”:
- Động từ tận cùng ‘ed’ được phát âm là /d/ khi theo sau các âm hữu thanh trừ âm (d)
- Động từ tận cùng bằng ‘ed’ được phát âm là /t/ khi theo sau các âm vô thanh trừ âm (t)
- Động từ tận cùng bằng ‘ed’ được phát âm là /id/ khi theo sau các âm (t, d, te, de)

Cleft sentences in passive
