Pham Tuan was born on February 14th , 1947 in Kien Xuong, Thai Binh.
He became a national hero in 1973.
He was the first Vietnamese and Asian human to fly into space in 1980
His flight lasted 7 days, 20 hours, 42 minutes.
He retired in December 2007 with army rank: lieutenant-general
