Simple/Compound sentences
• A simple sentence consists of only one clause.
My country has many customs.
• A compound sentence consists of independent clauses only. We
use coordinating conjunctions (and, or, but, so, etc.) to connect
the clauses in a compound sentence. We usually put a comma
before but or so.
