● Play the CD while the pupils listen and point to the picture.
● Play the CD again and encourage the pupils to chant along.
● Encourage the pupils to say the chant again and exaggerate the /k/, /s/, /d/
sounds.

Notes for
teachers
Point to the pictures and the spellings of the sounds.
Play the CD, pausing after each word for the pupils to repeat.
Ask them to have their red, green and blue colored pencils ready.
Play the CD again.
Pause after each word, allowing the pupils time to colour the pictures that have c
with red, s with green and d with blue on the photocopied handouts or on their
notebooks .

● Use slides 13, 14, 15 to help pupils review three sounds again.

● Ask the pupils to say the chant again chorally and clap for ever word.
● Ask the pupils to work in pairs to read aloud the chant in their book and
underline the letters c, s and d with the correct colours as in Activity 2.
● Invite pupils to underline the letters on the board.

Game: Slap the board
• Draw three columns on the board then write /k/, /d/, /s/ in these
columns.
• Divide the class into 2 teams, call out 4 pupils of each team to come
to the board.
• Say a word and ask two members of two teams to run quickly to
slap the correct sound. After that, ask this pair to repeat the sound
and the word. The team whose member slaps the correct word first
will get 1 star.
• Words to practice: cat, cave, caravan, castle, sandwich , speak ,
school, desert , drum, dress, doll.
• At the end of the game, the team with more stars will be the winner.
