Marathon Boston là một trong những sự kiện thể thao
thường niên lớn nhất, lâu đời nhất được tổ chức ở Mỹ,
với gần 27.000 người tham dự và hàng chục nghìn người xem.
Sự kiện này tổ chức đúng ngày nghỉ lễ Yêu nước (Patriot`s Day),
15/4. Năm nay là lần thứ 117 giải được tổ chức.
Tại cuộc đua năm nay, vận động viên Lelisa Desisa của Ethiopia
đã về nhất ở nội dung dành cho nam với thành tích 2 giờ 10
phút và 22 giây.
Và khi chiếc đồng hồ ở vạch đích chạm mốc 4 giờ 09 phút 44
giây thì đã xảy ra vụ 2 vụ nổ làm 3 người chết
(trong đó có một em bé 8 tuổi) và hơn 100 người bị thương,
