a. Uses : We use although/ despite/ in spite of to express contrast
between two pieces of information in the same sentence.
We use although before a clause and despite/ in spite of
before a noun / noun phrase or V_ing.
MAIN CLAUSE + ALTHOUGH + S + V + ……
MAIN CLAUSE +DESPITE / INSPITE OF + NOUN /N. PHRASE/ V_ing
b. Forms
2. However / Nevertheless
e.g. He is so young. However, / Nevertheless, he performs excellently.
a. Use: We also use However and Nevertheless to express contrast between two sentences. We usually use comma (,) after them.
b. Form:
S + Verb + . ….. .However, + S + Verb
