Task 1. Look at the photo of the rickshaw in the article on page 39. Why do you think people choose this kind of transportation? What are the advantages?

The reasons for keeping rickshaws:
Rickshaws’ bell isn’t noisier then modern transportations’ ring
It’s so popular that you can find anywhere in Kolkata
It is very convenient for shoppers to carry goods because no other type public transportation drops you off outside and helps you unload.
Working as Rickshaws is the opportunity for jobless people (people with no job and no qualifications)
It is also very anything with an engine is useless, when it is bad.
The reasons against keeping rickshaws:
It is quite danger.
Some driver of the rickshaws little or no heed for the rules of the road.
It cannot use to go long distance.
Its speed is slow.
It does not have parking.
Foreigners can misunderstand that there is the class prejudice in Kolkata.
You must be strong people you just can pull the rickshaw.
Many rickshaws have no lights and do not need insurance for carrying passengers unlike taxis, etc.
Task 9:
Work in group of 4- 5.Make a debate to decide if Kolkata should ban rickshaws.
Each person in the group has a role. Choose one of the roles below and decide if your person wants to ban rickshaws or not.
Use the list of reasons in activity 1.
Finally, discuss the topic and try to find a solution. e
