I/ History of Halloween
Halloween is a contraction of All Hallows eve
Halloween is an annual holiday, celebrated each year on October 31, that has roots in age-old European traditions. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which is a time to honor all saints.
Halloween began 2000 years ago in Ireland. It appeared in America by the first immigration in 1840 but in middle of,Halloween became a major holiday in there. So Halloween began to be widely celebrated in Vietnam about 10-12 years ago .

Symbols
In different places , the people often have the own Symbols . But we usually see the most common symbols as
+Jack-o`-lanterns are traditionally carried by guisers. As a rule, they are made from pumpkin or turnip (in Ireland , Scotland). On the Halloween day, they believe that it frightens evil spirits into submission
+ They are skulls and  Skeleton . They represent the death and the fear of man. The Celts think the skull is "spiritual" in the human soul and it is also a sign of the end of life.

We know that : ‘’ Halloween began in Europe and now it is popular on the world ‘’. Therefore , Each country alway s has different customs on Halloween day. Let’s find out about them !
First , In China , they hold the festival called ‘Teng Chieh’ . They worship the ancestors and the shamans fold the paper boats to hope the dead turn back with them

2) Many customs in other countries
In Philippin , they hold the traditional festival called Pangangaluluwa .They visit from house to house ,sing a lot of traditional song to beg money and food.
In Austria , instead of eating food and wearing horror costumes, they put a glass of water, bread and light a candle on the table before going to sleep to welcome returning souls . In there, Halloween last more than a week from 30/10 to 8/11. On 2/11 they often go to church

In US, Ireland and USA , Halloween is same as on the world . They wakeup horror and go to the party .
In Spain, they hold Halloween simply. They prepare many favourite food of dead, water, flowers,... They also visited the cemetery, cleaned the graves and eat outside there.

3)Clothes
On Halloween night, people in the world wear clothes different from normal day. They Disguise oneself as vampires ; monsters, skeletons,
ghosts; witches, devils,.... These are Thrilling costumes.
However some people like to wear as queens, princesses, fairies , characters on cartoons or film; which they like . They seem to be cosplays.

Sometimes they want to Disguise oneself as their idols and famous people in the world
.In each country, local people often own the special way of wearing .
