Minh: I have a toothache.

Minh: Yes, I am. I have an appointment
at 10.30 this morning, but I’m scared.
Hoa: Why?
Minh: I hate the sound of the drill. It’s so loud.
Hoa: I understand how you feel, but don’t worry. Last
week, the dentist filled a cavity in my teeth.
Minh: Were you scared?
Hoa: I was a little scared, but the dentist was kind. She
looked at my teeth and told me not to worry. Then
she filled it. It stopped hurting afterwards. I felt a
lot better after she fixed my tooth.
Minh: You’re right. I feel less scared now. Thanks, Hoa.

Minh: Thế bạn có sợ không?
Hoa: Mình hơi sợ, nhưng cô nha sĩ tử tế lắm. Cô ấy khám răng mình và bảo mình đừng lo. Sau đó cô ấy trám lại. Sau đó nó hết đau liền. Mình cảm thấy đỡ hơn nhiều sau khi cô ấy chữa răng cho mình.
Minh: Bạn đúng đấy. Mình cảm thấy ít sợ hơn rồi. Cám ơn nhé, Hoa.
Hoa: Không có chi. Chúc may mắn nhé!

*Forms:

What + be + the matter (with + O)?
= What + be + wrong (with + O)?
=> S + have / has + (disease: căn bệnh).
Ex: What is the matter with her?
=> She has a toothache.
*Usage(s): Hỏi và trả lời ai đó bệnh gì.
II.GRAMMAR
1. What’s the matter (with.... )?/ What’s wrong (with...)?: Chuyện gì xảy ra (với ai)?
2. Câu hỏi Why-because:
- Câu hỏi Why thường được dùng để hỏi lí do hay nguyên nhân.
e.g: Why is he going to the library this afternoon?
Why did they borrow this book?
Why doesn’t she buy herself a bag?
Form: Why + Va/ do + S + Vm + O/ A?
Va: auxiliary verb( trợ động từ)
Vm: main verb(động từ chính)
- Để trả lời cho câu hỏi với WHY, chúng ta có thể dùng:
a. Because + clause (mệnh đề)
e.g: Why are you on the diet? – Because I want to lose weight.
Why does he study hard? – Because he wants to pass the exams.
b. Infinitive phrase(cụm động từ nguyên mẫu có “To”)
e.g: Why are you on the diet? – To lose weight.
Why do people do exercises? – To keep healthy.
2. Câu hỏi Why-because:
c. Because of (Bởi vì...)
Để trả lời cho câu hỏi Why chúng ta có thể dùng because of một dạng trả lời ngắn gọn cho because + clause như sau:
Form: Because of + V-ing/ Noun/ Noun Phrase.
e.g: Why are you on the diet? – Because of losing weight.
Why do people do exercises? – Because of keeping healthy/ health
