Châu Mĩ được người Châu Âu phát kiến vào cuối thế kì XV nên được gọi là Tân thế giới. Những luồng di dân trong quá trình lịch sử đã góp phần hình thành một cộng đồng dân cư năng động và đa dạng ở châu lục này.
1. MỘT LÃNH THỔ RỘNG LỚN
- Châu mĩ rộng 42 triệu km2, nằm hoàn toàn ở nửa cầu Tây
-Châu Mĩ nằm trải dài trên nhiều vĩ độ hơn cả, từ vùng cực Bắc đến tận vùng cực Nam.
