Born on 27 June in Alabama
as a healthy child
19 months, after an illness,
Helen lost her hearing
and vision
Anne Mansfield Sullivan,
her 20 year-old teacher
helped Helen break
though her world of
silence
* 1890 Helen formally
went to school
Her first handwriting
* 1904 she graduated
from
Radcliffe College
Helen became one of
the history’s remarkable
women.
She dedicated her life
to improving the condition
of the blind and the
deaf- blind round the world.
She lectured in 25 countries.
She brought new courage to
millions of people.
In 1968,at the age of 88 she died at sleep.
Her ashes were placed next to her beloved teacher, Anne Sullivan Macy.
One of her friends said “ She will live on, one of the few, the immortal names not born to die ….”
