Led by Principal Investigator Rodger Bybee, who developed the model for constructivism
The team then called the model “Five Es”
The 5E model consists of:
A. Engage, Explain, Explore, Evaluate, Elaborate.
B. Explore, Evaluate, Evalue, Explore, Elaborate.
C. Engage, Evaporate, Explore, Elaborate, Explain.
D. Elaborate, Evaporate, Evalue, Engage, Explore.

Students investigate densities of other materials
learn about structures of ice liquid water
5. EVALUATE
Students write about or report their findings as groups, or create group concept maps to present their findings.
