*Dạng phát âm yếu là dạng phát âm thông thường của dạng từ này và chúng chỉ được phát âm dưới dạng mạnh trong các trường hợp sau:
+ Khi từ đó xuất hiện ở đầu hoặc cuối câu nói, hay khi từ đó được đem tương phản với 1 từ khác.
Ex: The letter is from /frכm / him, not to /tu:/ him.
+ Khi từ đó được đánh trọng âm vì mục đích nhấn mạnh của người nói, hay được trích dẫn.
Ex: she is clever but [bʌt] lazy.

3. My employer, whom I dislike, works in the next room.
(Whom: object of dislike)
4. The flowers which you bought yesterday are beautiful.
(WHICH: object of bought)
5. I know the girl whose father works in this bank.
a.Relative clauses.
II.Grammar:
Relative pronouns
Who : chủ từ (chỉ người)
Whom: túc từ ( chỉ người)
Whose : sở hữu (người)
Whoever : (dù ai đi nữa)
Which : chủ từ, túc từ ( chỉ vật)
* Mệnh đề tính từ có thể được rút gọn thành cụm phân từ .
Có 2 cách rút gọn:
+. Bỏ đại từ quan hệ (who, which, that) và các hình thức của động từ tobe.
+. Bỏ đại từ quan hệ (who, which, that) và chuyển các hình thức của động từ chính trong câu sang present participle (Ving) hoặc having + past participle.
b. Relative clause Reduction.
Examples:
Do you know the man. He is standing at the door?
Do you know the man, who is standing at the door?
Do you know the man standing at the door?.
2. These are beautiful flowers. They were bought yesterday.
These are beautiful flowers, Which were bought yesterday.
These are beautiful flowers bought yesterday.
Note:
* He is standing at the door : Active sentence.
* They were bought yesterday : Passive sentence.
