We should take part in the struggle against the illiteracy in our country.
2. KNOWLEDGE:
General knowledge: students learn about the fight against the illiteracy in our country .

Warm up : 4 minutes
Look at the picture
Answer these questions:
Can you guess where this class is located ?
What is the “teacher”/ soldier doing ?
What are the children doing ?
Is the classroom in good condition ?
A) Pre- reading
Words and phrases :

A campaign for illiteracy eradication
600 students did in 2000 and 800 students did in 2001
They provided reading and writing lessons for the people who are unable to read and write. They also made relevant materials for their classes.
Illiteracy will soon be eradicated.

Students:
Read the whole text silently again – Practise asking and answering the five questions in task 3 (work in pairs).
Listen to the text read by the teacher or the native speaker.
Ask and answer the questions (work in groups of four).
Are there any illiterate people in your neighborhood/ your ward/ your village?
What do you think we should do to help them read and write?
