Exercise 1:
Study the words in the box. Which of these things do you do every day?
Exercise 2:
Complete the interviews using the correct form of the verbs in
exercise 1. Then listen and check

Exercise 3:
Look at the words in blue in the dialogues in exercise 2. What are they ?
They are Adverbs of frequency. Where do adverbs of frequency go in a
sentence? Think of more adverbs
• If a sentence has only one verb, place the adverb of
frequency in the middle of the sentence. For
example:
• Tom never flies. He always takes the bus.
• When a sentence contains more than one verb,
place the adverb of frequency before the main verb.
For example:
• They have often visited Europe.
Examples:
1.We take a vacation at least once annually.
2.I usually shop for groceries on Saturday
mornings.
3.He is often late for work.
4.We seldom see John.
5.My dentist told me I should floss twice daily.

• Midnight (and midday) is
specific hour which is why we
use AT.

Ask and answer questions to compare your daily routines. Use time
expressions, adverbs of frequency and the words and phrases in exercises
1 and 2. Are your routines similar?

Use it! Use the information about partner in exercise 4 to write a
paragraph about their daily routine.
I get up early in the morning around 7am. First, I take a
shower then I brush my teeth. After that, I eat my
breakfast. Next I put my clothes on and catch the grab bike
to work. In addition, I always take my tea break at 12am
then I finish work at 5pm. Finally, I get home at 5pm in the
evening and have dinner then go to bed.
Homework
• Learn by heart all the new words
• Practice using adverbs of frequency in talking about
your daily routines
