I. Aims: By the end of the lesson, Students will be able to write a passage about the benefits of the Internet and develop their writing skill.
II. Warm up:(5’) Play a Kim`s game about the benefits of Internet.
III. Pre- writing: (8’) Set up a context and review the structure.
IV. While – writing:( 21’) Help Ss understand the content of the writing and develop their writing skill.
1. Task 1: Answer the questions
Help Students recognize the content of the writing and get information for the writing.
2. Task 2. Write the passage about the benefits of the Internet.
Help students understand the content of the writing and develop their writing skill.
V. Post – writing:(10’) Help Ss consolidate what they’ve just learned.
* Task 1. Report their writing before class.
* Task 2. Discussion: Talk about the disadvantages of the Internet after watching a film.
* Encourage: Give opinions through answering the questions:
+ What do you use the Internet for?
+ How much time do you spend surfing the web a day?

In my opinion, the Internet is a very fast and convenient way for me to get information. I can also communicate with my friends and relatives by means of e-mail or chatting. However, I don’t use the Internet very often because I don’t have much time. For me, the Internet is a wonderful invention of modern life. It makes our world a small village.

Nobody can deny the benefits of the Internet in our life. However, it is a pity for me as well as for most of my friends in the countryside. The Internet is available only in cities, therefore I cannot easily get access to it. I sometimes visit my uncle in the city on weekends, and this is a good occasion for me to explore the net. I spend most of the time wandering because I just don’t know which website is useful for me.

People use the Internet for many purposes: education, communication, entertainment and commerce. However, the Internet has limitations. It is not only time-consuming and costly but also dangerous because of viruses and bad programs. Moreover, Internet users sometimes have to suffer various risks such as spam or electronic junk mail, and personal information leaking. So, while enjoying surfing, be alert !

Firstly, it is a source of information. It is a fast and convenient way to get the news. You can read electric newspapers. You can check weather condition before you go camping, fishing or go on a holiday. You can communicate with friends or relatives by means of email or chatting.
Secondly, the Internet is a source of entertainment. You can listen to music, watch movies and play video games. You can read the latest novels or poems.
Finally, the Internet is also useful in education. It is a means of education. You can learn a foreign language such as English, look up a dictionary. You can take a training or learning course.
In conclusion, the Internet brings us lots of benefits which make our life more modern and convenient. And it makes our world a small village.
