HYDROELECTRIC POWER
The electricity is typically created when the water is passed over large mechanical turbines, the water pressure forces the turbines to turn, the mechanical energy created is the convered into electricity
Hydroelectric power is electricity generated by hydropower
ADVANTAGES OF HYDROELECTRIC
Once a dam is contructed, electric can be produced at a constant rate


Hydropower is a fueled by water, so it`s clean fuel source
Hydroelectric power is not expensive
DISADVANTAGES OF HYDROELECTRIC
Dams are extremly expensive to build and must be built to a very high standard
People living in villages and town that are in the valley to be flooded, must move out
Fish populations can be impacted if fish live in the dam
