I. Vocabulary:
It is a contest in which participants have to cook rice.
 It’s a rice-cooking contest.
Compound noun
= Noun + V - ing
II.Grammar
Water - fetching contest
1. Compound noun:
= N - Ving
Rice - cooking festival
Fire - making contest
Eg:
3. Rewrite the sentences in your exercise book.
Use a compound word in your exercises.
Example:
- It is a contest in which participants have to cook rice
It`s a rice-cooking contest.

Yesterday Lan’s grandmother, Mrs. Thu, needed a plumber. A man came to her door. Report what the man told Mrs. Thu.
2.Reported speech:
Trong câu trực tiếp thông tin đi thẳng từ người thứ nhất đến người thứ 2( trực tiếp).
He said “ I bought a new car for myself yesterday.”
Trong câu gián tiếp thông tin đi từ người thứ nhất qua người thứ 2 đến với người thứ 3, và câu có sự biến đổi về mặt ngữ pháp (gián tiếp).
He said he had bought a new car for himself the day before.
Một số lưu ý khi biến đổi câu trực tiếp sang câu gián tiếp
1. Đổi chủ ngữ và các đại từ nhân xưng khác trong câu trực tiếp theo chủ ngữ của thành phần thứ nhất.
2. Lùi động từ ở gián tiếp xuống một cấp so với lúc ban đầu.
3. biến đổi các đại từ chỉ thị, phó từ chỉ thời gian và địa điểm như bảng quy định sau:
1. The present simple  The past simple
2. The present progressive  The past progressive
3. The past simple The past perfect
4. Will  would
5. Must  had to
6. Can/ May  could/ Might
6. This  that
7. Now  then
8. Here  there
9. Today  that day
10. Tomorrow  the next day/ the following day
