* Dùng mạo từ the trước:
Danh từ đã xác định.
Danh từ chỉ dãy núi, sông, biển, đại dương, sa mạc
Danh từ chỉ các loại nhạc cụ.
Danh từ riêng chỉ các vùng địa lý, quốc gia dùng với các từ sau: republic, empire, kingdom, union….. hoặc viết ở số nhiều.
Tính từ ở dạng so sánh nhất.
Không dùng the với:
- Danh từ chỉ tên đường phố, danh từ chỉ môn thể thao, danh từ có nghĩa chung………
