Van Cao’s profile

Van Cao was born on the 15th November, 1923 in Nam Dinh province. His parents were poor workers. He started composing music when he was very young. In 1939 he wrote his first song. In 1944, he wrote Tien Quan Ca which is considered the Vietnamese National Anthem. Besides songs, he also composed poems and paintings. He died on the 10th July, 1995. He is known as a very talented musician and highly appreciated by the Vietnamese people.
