MODEL:
In Vietnam, the pre-school period is completely optional. Children can either go to nursery, kindergarten or not.
The school system consists of 2 levels of education : primary and secondary education. The children start primary education at the age of 6 and it lasts 5 years.They go to lower secondary school when they are 11 years old. They finish nine- year compulsory education when they complete Grade 9 at the age of 14 years.They may continue studying upper secondary education when they are 15 years old and it lasts 3 years. After finishing Grade 12 at the age of 17 ,they have to take the national examination for GCSE. The compulsory subjects in the National examination which the students know in advance are Maths , Literature and Foreign Language .The academic years in Vietnam runs from late August to May and is divided into 2 terms.The first term ends in mid January with a week holiday and the second term finishes in late May

Vietnam and England have some similarities in the school system
The school system in both countries consists of 2 levels : Primary and secondary education
Students have to follow the national curriculum set by the government for the two levels of education .After finishing secondary school, they have to take the national examination for GCSE.
However, There are some differences between the school system in Vietnam and England.
Children in Vietnam start primary school at the age of 6 and finish this level at the age of 10 while children in England study at primary school from the age of 5 to 10.
In Vietnam, the compulsory education lasts 9 years ( from grade 1 to grade 9) so children upper secondary when the children are 17 years old. In England, the education ends when they finish the grade 11 curriculum at the age of 16.
