Giving advice
Should and shouldn’t
You should do sth = it is a good thing to do or the right thing to do.
Ex: You look tired. You should go to bed.
You shouldn’t do sth = it isn’t a good thing to do.
Ex: You shouldn’t believe everything you read in the newspapers.
We usually use should with I think/ I don’t think/ Do you think…?
If I had a lot of money,I would buy a big palace.
If I were a princess, I would get married with a handsome prince.
Conditional type 2:
Usage: - Express imaginary or unlikely
happening situations at the present.
Form: If clause, main clause

If S + the past simple tense, S + would/ should/ could/...
+ V bare + O.

To be : “were” to all subjects
Inversion: Were +S +to V..., S + would/ should/ could/...
+ V bare + O.



Conditional type 1:
Usage: - Express possible results of likely happening situations .
Form: If clause, main clause

If S + the present simple tense, S + will/ shall/ can/...
+ V bare + O.

Inversion: Should +S +t V..., S + will/ shall/ can/...
+ V bare + O.




If the earth gets warmer,
the ice at the North and South pole will melt.
