In general, a rise in a tune means that what we say needs an answer. The rising tune is usually applied in these cases:
Yes/No questions
Ex: Are you free this afternoon?
Tag-questions
Ex: He wrote this letter, didn’t he?
The first part of Or Questions
Ex: Do you want to go to Paris or London?
