Let’s move to the new lesson to see some predictions about these cities in 2050 and how people can solve these problems to make the cities become a better place for people to live.

Predictions
Task 1. Choose sentences a-d to complete the conversation between two Londoners.

b. This means there’ll be no pollution, will there?
c. London won’t be a good place to live in, will it?

Mary: What are you reading, Jack?.
Jack: I’m reading some predictions about London in 2050.

Jack: On the contrary, it will be. Although it’s now a stressful and overcrowded city with lots of and pollution, there are plans to improve the situation.

A: How will they do that?
B: Well, they’ll promote self-driving electric taxis and use city’s building roofs for gardens fertilised with compost.
A: Wonderful. Anything else?
B: They also build plants to turn waste into energy and build off shore wind farms.
