Listen to the following exchanges and underline the stressed words. Then practise them with a partner, using the correct sentence stress.
Vocabulary
Underline the correct word in each sentence. 
1. If you want to get a job, you should look for job adverts.
5.  The new employee is usually confirmed after a period of probation.
2. Don’t forget to read the information about the required skills and qualities to see if you have the relevant job experience.
3. If you tailor your CV to suit the job requirements, you can increase your chances of getting an interview.

Grammar
Turn the following sentences into repor speech, using the reporting verbs in the box. 
1. Mike: “How long will it take you to finish writing your CV, Mira?` 
=> Mike asked Mira how long it would take her to finish writing her CV.
2. Mira. `I think I will need another two hours.` 
=> Mira informed him that she would need another two hours.
3. Mike. `Try to finish it by 4 p.m so that you can come and watch the football match` 
=> Mike encouraged/urged her to try and finish it by 4 p.m so that she could come and watch the football match.
4. Mira. `That`ll give me only an hour!` 
=> Mira exclaimed that would give her only an hour.
5. Mike. `Come on, just write it quickly.` 
=> Mike urged her to write it quickly.
6. Mira. `Sorry, I won`t be able to leave the house before 4 p.m. because I want to write a very impressive CV.` 
=> Mira refused to leave the house before 4 p.m. because she wanted to write a very impressive CV.
7. Mike: But you never come and see me play.` 
=> Mike complained that she never came and saw him play.
8. Mira. `I`ll come to your next match. I promised `
=> Mira promised to come to his match/that she would come to his next match.
